Every archer aims for the X.
ArX is Birchwood's own competitive pathway — a five-tier ladder built for both youth and adults, unlike national programs like JOP and CanBow, which are youth-only. Whether you're 9 or 49, ArX gives you a real progression to climb, with your own division the whole way up.
ArX borrows its color system from our program rings — but here, each ring is a rank you earn, not just a category. Youth and adult archers climb the same five tiers, recognized separately at every level.
Indoor, 10m, 40cm face. The entry point onto the ladder — safety, consistent form, and real scoring for the first time. Open to anyone who's completed a Recreational or Private Lessons block.
Indoor, 15m. First taste of internal competition — Birchwood mini-tournaments and mail matches against your own tier.
Indoor 18m, plus your first outdoor distances (20–30m). Eligible for Birchwood's internal championship events.
Full outdoor distances for your division. Eligible to represent Birchwood at open tournaments outside the club, including our own ArX qualifier events.
Birchwood's top internal tier. Priority for advanced coaching, a mentorship role with newer archers, and the pathway into provincial-level competition — JOP for youth, open provincial tournaments for adults.
For archers working through school and growing fast — the same five tiers, with distances and draw weights matched to age and physical development. Youth ArX also feeds directly into CanBow and JOP if you want to compete provincially.
For the archers JOP and CanBow don't have room for. Full five-tier progression, real internal competition, and a genuine path to open provincial tournaments — no separate "adult beginner" ceiling.

Registration for ArX starts the same way as any Birchwood class — pick a block, and your coach will place you on the ladder.
